Across the sporting world, the “perdiz roja” (Alectoris rufa) of Spain, holds a special place in the hearts of international guns. Many argue, that properly presented in hilly terrain, this is the most challenging game bird that flies. All agree, there is nothing quite like shooting with good friends, squadrons of wild, sporty birds, combined with the lovely accommodations, good meals, and the warm days and crisp nights typical from Spain.

Your airport of choice would be either Madrid or Barcelona International and the group would then travel one and a half hours to the lodge or hotel. These scenic, hilly areas produces excellent shooting, with fast-flying birds high birds for groups of between four and eight guns.

Accommodation is arranged within 30 minutes of the shoot to whatever standard is required. A typical programme would be arrival and transfer to your accommodation on the first day. Days two and three would consist of two days driven partridge shooting, with 200 - 500 birds per day. The day starts with two drives and is followed by a mid-morning break for a light snack and drinks. Two more drives are made and the day is finished off with drinks, with the day’s bag being laid out for inspection and photographs.

Prices start at £14500 based on a group of eight guns in a basic lodge. Included in the price are two days’ driven partridge shooting, accommodation on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, all meals and drinks on the shoot, ammunition, airport and shoot transfers and a Spanish hunting permit.
